School of Pageantry 101
CONFIDENCE
Understand that being in a pageant you will learned that people can be destructive or supportive. The biggest takeaway to keep in mind, however, is none of it matters if you don’t believe in yourself. Being in a pageant teaches you to be confident and love yourself; you must be confident and love yourself regardless of the way that others see you. Think about it like this “It helped me become confident while learning to accept me, every aspect, just the way I am.”
FRIENDSHIP
The best thing about pageants is, for every contestant you meet is potentially a lifelong friend and helps you as you journey through your pageant experience. You will meet people strictly that has the “eyes on the prize” mindset, but overall you must think about how amazing and diverse the amount of personality you have combined in one room.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Before entering a pageant, you should always check to see if they have scholarships for, school, or even saving bond. Schooling is very expensive and having a scholarship for any school will help at any level of pageantry.
COMMUNICATION
Two of the most important aspects of doing a pageant is the on-stage question and the interview. These both help with communication skills. They help you learn to speak eloquently, and to think before speaking and looking at multiple sides of situations and not speaking from a personal side.
NETWORKING AND OPPORTUNITIES
You will have networking opportunities at any level of pageantry, starting with community service, meeting the mayors of different cities, school administration etc. At the college level you will meet different people with higher learning of job skills , professors, entertainment industries, modeling opportunities, and much much more. Your pageantry experience should and will be the best experience, you’ll live to tell your children about.
